Day 7

Jack's Daily Excerpt: We've spent most of our waking time in the Adult Day Room, which obviously used to be The Bar, but has now been shut down by AMHS Directorial fiat, because of alleged (and improbable) unprofitability. The bar counter is bordered with grating and plasticine-window barrier material like in a check-cashing joint or off-track-betting outpost, just to make sure nothing passes out of the now shut-down taps and into the parched hands of alcohol-jonesing passengers. In fact, drinking of alcoholic beverages is (officially) confined to cabins only, meaning that none of the deck-only passengers are allowed to drink booze for the duration of the trip, a blatantly elitist policy that couldn't possibly last if anybody decided to enforce any of the onboard rules.
