unrelated to anything but learning a new word, today i learned the word "heliopause" from a slashdot post about voyager 1 leaving the solar system. it basically means the boundary of the reach of the sun's affect, but more here - neat!

Hi,
You don’t know me but I’m the last person that pressure washed that brick patio at the “ridge”. Miss your father, had great talks with him while working there. I loved his insight on many subjects. One on one, he was very gabby and interesting. We had the same opinion on many issues.

One hour series: BBC Bleak House 2005 is also kind of soap opera-y but more gothic, with some priceless Dickens humor left in, which I found a riveting combo. Totally different but stunningly good is BBC version of Life on Mars–part gritty 70s cop show, part surreal time travel/what is reality/existential mindfuck. Cannot vouch for American version. Also if you haven’t seen Sherlock, it is excellent but I think they are 90 minute eps?

Gosh. Brought up on a farm and stocked the farmshop from when I could walk and pick apples. Hence know the old Worcestershire varieties, and eating them as a staple for the first 20 years of my life was probably a good thing. Your flickr gallery is excellent. Only variety I recognise from the old country is Cox's Orange Pippin. Though we also have/had various Pearmains, the most well-known being the Worcester Pearmain. Your Lamb Abby Pearmain looks very similar, possibly more uniformly coloured. The Macoun looks interesting; what is that like to eat?
